Although the 2,340 new infections reported Wednesday are above the average of the past seven days (2,060), there was a significant decrease in hospital patients and a slight decrease in intensive care patients.
Currently, 1,796 people (minus 101) were hospitalized, and 516 (minus 4) people were cared for in intensive care units. The latter number decreased by 41 patients within one week. The seven-day incidence on Wednesday was 162 per 100,000 population. 24,028 active cases were down 39 from Tuesday. Recovered since the outbreak of the epidemic 580,330 Austrians, within the past 24 hours were 2,353.
However, there have also been 26 deaths, with a seven-day average of 22.1 per day. A total of 10,152 deaths have been registered so far. Per 100,000 population, 114.1 people have died from or with Covid-19 since the pandemic began.
